Chacon has done a hell of a job of taking the suspense out of the last 2 games he's pitched.

These haven't been cheap shot home runs. That's a pair of absolute bombs plus a triple that was halfway up Tal's Hill in the air.

Well Chacon has come back down to earth...ugh.

All we need is a Touchdown and an extra point and we are right back in this game.

And a few pitchers that keep it only a touchdown difference.

I guess it could be worse if I was a Mariners or Rockies fan.

I'd say Glaus is seeing Chacon pretty well.

Or one of the other 15 teams with a worse record than the Astros.

I would bring up Runelvys Hernandez and move Shawn Chacon to the pen where he has had his most sucess. I would send down Chris Sampson. Hernandez has been nasty since May. 4-0, 1.80 ERA, and .180 BA against.

Why would you send down Sampson? Since being moved to the pen, he's pitched 6 innings, allowed 2 hits, 0 walks, and 1 run. Cassell was the guy who got absolutely shelled his last time out (and hasn't been used in a week).

Also not sure where you get Chacon being better in the pen. He only really has 2 years experience there -- one last year when he was decent in mid relief (3.94 ERA), and one back in 2004 when he posted a 7.11 ERA. Not really conclusive.

Cassel is already in Round Rock. I just think Hernandez deserves a shot the way he is pitching in RR. I knew Chacon is not going continue to pitch like he was earlier on. His numbers just didn't add up. He was walking way too many hitters. Also I don't think Sampson is going keep this up in the pen. His stuff is not suited for the pen. I don't like his stuff.

not every reliever has to be a power pitcher.
as long as sampson locates his pitches he will be fine.

Tejada just took two HORRIBLE HACKS in a row at pitches WAY OUTSIDE the zone.

I don't think Wigginton would have swung at those on his worst day.

WTF kinda strategy was that with Bourne?

Its a clear-cut bunt situation for even a DECENT hitter at the plate near the bottom of the order... the fact that Bourne's only strength is his speed makes it more-so.

And he swings away and pops up weakly to LF. Awful.

Back-to-back hits by Lee and Wigginton to lead off the bottom of the 2nd.

Bourn and Ausmus fail to even move the runners and Wandy is an easy 3rd out.

We were hoping for an improved bottom of the lineup this season. Through 60+ games, it's been far worse.
