Pujols is a bad man. I like how Edmunds didn't give him props when he came home. :D

    Why not? You're up 5-1.

Hell, I'd still pitch to him if we were up 3-1.

    why not? seriously?

for the same reasons you don't pitch to barry bonds over the course of the last few years. because he beats the hell out of you far more often than anyone else does.

Up 4 runs, Roy looking great, no men on.

He's a good hitter, but the statistical advantage still lies with the pitcher. Especially when it's a pitcher like Roy.

I do have to say this about Mr. Albert Pujols... he is evolving into possibly the greatest hitter any of us have ever seen.

I still remember after his rookie season in 2001, people (including myself) were thinking he may have just had the best season he'd ever have. Pitchers will figure out his tendencies, exploit them, and he'll have to come down to earth. Hell, that was still back when 50 HR seasons were routine, guys like Brett Boone were slugging for the fences... I guess it didn't seem out of the ordinary for a guy to have a big year out of nowhere (Brady Anderson?)

Boy, were we wrong... the guy is continuing to get better and better and better and better and better. I already know what to expect from just looking at his career #'s... but everytime I see it live, its still awe-inspiring.

We all talk about how Reggie Bush will be the "greatest RB ever" (without playing a down)... or Vince Young will change the way the QB position is played forever... but here's a guy who came out of NOWHERE, is only TWENTY SIX years old, and is doing nothing but producing day-in and day-out in a sport that's notorious for humbling even the greatest of players from time-to-time.

I may "hate" him because he's a Cardinal... but I will admit that I'm watching greatness in its full effect.

Agreed, 100%. Wish he were our 3B (sorry Mo!).

Right again, but I must point out, in light of the dinger tonight, how awesome it was to see this once-in-a-generation hitter humbled by one Roy Oswalt last October. Remember that one swing? Man, I'd almost pay money for a .gif of that!!!

I still hate Edmonds more than I ever will Pujols. Pujols is just sick, regardless if you hate him or not. Jordan-like in terms of "I hate him only because he's not on our side"

Agreed 100%.... especially since it was the very first AB right after he ripped out everyone's hearts.

Alright... Roy may want to bear down a little and finish this one strong.

Well, barring an Astros offensive explosion in the top of the ninth (or a disaster in the next 2 batters)... in the 9th, we'll get Lidge vs. Pujols.

Well, regardless of what happens, he can't beat the Astros by beating Lidge...

I agree. I hate Edmonds, but I really don't hate Pujols. I respect and admire Pujol's talent too much. He makes for a great adversary

Anybody worried about seeing Lidge in the 9th?
