Alex's breakout has to me been the most fun part of the season so far. He's absolutely a superstar player and he seems like a great guy and he's an Astro. Homegrown.
It's ludicrous how locked in Bregman is at the plate; also how quickly he has become one of my all-time favorite Astros. Raise your hand if you thought he would be leading the team in HRs around the ASB. Yeah, me neither.
Bregman is the total package right now. Hitting, power, great plate discipline, defense, clutch, etc.
Right now he is, He's got a long way to go to get in Altuve territory. He's going to have 20 homeruns by the all star break.
Obviously, no, I thought George or Carlos would be leading in home runs. But I have always thought he had the potential to hit 30+. He seems to have intense desire to get really really good and actually is able to execute on that desire. Year over year his improvement has been ridiculous, so it's only fair to think he will continue developing. His talent + makeup = SUPERSTAR. The scary thing is we have two of those guys - Carlos absolutely is there too, we just forget because of recency bias.
Like Verlander said, "I've never seen a player who loves the game of baseball as much as Alex Bregman." Yep, that and the starting pitching.
Sitting in 122 looking at the scoreboard and the entire Oakland lineup is hitting between .240-.260 except for Lowrie I think... kinda weird
