Fister seems to have a little more velocity on his fastball, but he's leaving it over the plate. He may indeed be more effective at 86-87 if he can spot it better. Professional hitters aren't as professional as they used to be... With stuff on the corners, regardless of speed.
Agreed. It wasn't a timely walk, though, and he wasn't able to make a good enough pitch with a man on 3rd and 2 outs to limit the damage.
He's a 5th OF, and there's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately the Stros are only carrying 4 outfielders right now.
