I was in middle of writing a lengthy post as bottom 9 was transipiring. Luckily I can now amend it and abbreviate it to this: If a move to Giles at closer were to happen now, they took one crazily fortunate path to get there. One lost game TOTAL between the 2 struggling closers who preceded him. Talk about best case scenario.
I think it's time to go back to Giles myself. He seems to have worked out of whatever was between his ears early on.
depending on if the site with the video source allows embedding, look for a button or text box that says "embed" and it will give you the code to embed the video into a post just copy that code right into your post http://m.mlb.com/video/v911383183/oakhou-valbuena-comes-through-with-walkoff-homer
Doesn't count the games that Giles contributed to losing early on, when he was mentally shaken by not winning the job. Agreed. Very fortunate. I still think Harris gets a few more chances. Only his first blown one (although he was living on the edge for two others). Giles is likely next man up. I'm a little more worried about Feliz. Not sure if hitters have picked up on something or he's going through a dead arm phase.
They never really went to him, did they? I know he had the one blown save against Cincy on the 2 strike 2 out Homer.
Thanks. I was trying to channel Jobu last night to wake up the bats but couldn't figure out if I could paste a youtube video.
McHugh looks exactly like Mac from Always Sunny. Sounds just like him too. Has this been observed before?
No. Gregurson was the man but I think Hinch was being loyal to Gregurson at the beginning of the year for his success last year. I think he would have plugged Giles in when Greg wasnt cuttin it but Giles was juat as bad.
Automatically out with less than 2 outs, otherwise the catcher would drop the 3rd strike every time there is a runner on first to get an almost sure DP.
in a season, unless he is one those special guys like Rivera, every pitcher in the bullpen is going to look worthless for a stretch.
The problem is we don't know if pitching the ninth for a team with expectations is what was between his ears. It obviously has effected both Gregerson and Harris who have been light years better in the 8th. That pressure seemed to have been what took down Giles. It might be wise to call the Yankees.
