I'm off Friday. First weekday off that I'm not out of town in like two years. My wife is out of town for work, which means no complaints about what I watch. What that means is that I'll be in my own channel flipping glory all friggin night. Of course I don't count as I'm not in Houston, but the beauty is that these games are on national TV. Can't remember a night where the Astros and Texans were on national TV at the same time in a long time.
Rooting for a playoff team or watching a sorry excuse top 3 pick in the draft team?? The choice is clear Houston!
Astros Playoooooooooooofsssssss! I've actually commented in Astros postseason thread. Can check that off my bucket list.
I really nervous, to be honest. Nervous about our youth, under the bright lights, on a big stage. I wish it were a home game with Keuchel.
on sports radio this morning, when i flipped it on, all 3 stations were talking texans. it is what it is i guess. W.
Weird, weird timing by CC. I'm sure its been discussed earlier in the thread, but what a whale of a distraction. How do you make it a full season and then bow out as your team is fighting for it's playoff lives? I'm guessing he's no longer in the Yankees plans...?
Gotcha...I mean in the sense that before the year started no one predicted the astros in the playoffs so this is all extra gravy in addition to the bets having the Stros winning
Once the Stros win Tuesday, anyone who would watch the Texans on Thursday instead of the NLDS has some sort of deficiency in their soul.
If I hear anyone call into sports radio stations tomorrow to talk about the Texans I might punch a baby.
Home Plate Ump - Eric Cooper Eric Cooper will be home plate for Wild Card Game. He apparently has a history with the Astros. Huge pitchers advantage with him behind the plate. Anything close outside or down will get called a strike. It seems to be who ask though, as many say he is one of the best/most accurate and some cannot stand him behind the plate.
It isn't playing with house money. The talent is young and quite real. This isn't a team of old vets having career years. This team should have won their division but didn't. At this point they should beat the Yankees and need to do so. A loss probably won't get anyone fired, but will leave a sting because of the Astros talent level.
