A lot of cool stuff in this game, but I've got to hold up the Bregman steal followed by Yordan double as the single greatest part. It was just like watching a key effortlessly slide into and open a lock. It was just so...baseball. Bregman doesn't score if he's not on second by getting that steal. Yordan hits it in the perfect place to let him score and was clearly ecstatic about being able to do that (look at his reaction when gets to second; never seen him so animated.) Hopefully, that's good for his confidence going forward. Getting that fifth run really added some important extra cushion to work with. And that was the first run they really cleanly manufactured in the game, and you need those in addition to HRs. Just a great moment. Watch it again here. It's got both Yordan's hit and Bregman's effortless steal in there.
Yup, great analytics and great coaching all around. The Stros didn't even try to steal many bases in the regular season, but knowing d'Arnaud couldn't throw an obese 60 year old man out and seeing us get aggressive in the playoffs shows they ain't scared. Their here to win it. They'll probably have more steals than HRs in this series.
Pisses me off we always get the early games. I’ll be pulling against the Nationals thanks.#No Respect
If they get to the World Series, he's got a damm good chance to be at the top of that list before the postseason is over.
I went ahead an scheduled a personal day yesterday ahead of time, we've been locked into Friday at 1 for quite awhile. If we're still playing at 1 for 3 and 4 I'm gonna have to get creative. Inexplicable that baseball still does this playoff day game nonsense.
A few weeks ago I posted about the Astros undefeated record when my boy and I go to the game. Well I had to wait on buying tickets for tonight because of his own baseball schedule. Found out on Thursday that he plays at 2 and 4 with his travel team on Saturday and was pumped to see the Astros play at 8. I say that to say this, I was going to buy two nosebleed tickets for me and him, then he called grandma (my mom) and like the little 10 year old hustler he is, asked if they wanted to go to the game with him too. My mom said they did but she refused to sit up high.....so she gave me her credit card and I bought 5 club seats right in front of the Astros radio broadcast booth. Today is going to be a good day.
Inexplicable? The reason they do it is obvious. Whether one agrees they should do it is a different conversation.
