Are you sure that's the rule? I thought as long as a player played on the active roster at any part of this season, he could join the playoff roster. Thought the rule was to prevent teams from picking up waiver guys from other teams in September, and then adding them to the playoff roster. So if my understanding of the rule is correct, Fields could be on the playoff roster (along with Singleton, Villar, Obie, etc.).
