I'm worried the umps, who are aware of the offseason situation, will be quick with the warnings and take away the Stros pitchers' ability to protect their hitters.
I missed the hate for the proposal. On his defense, he's gotten so much better. WAR calculations probably are underestimating him by about a win based on statcast data. On Bregman playing short, it isn't great, but he plays well enough that I'm not worried if Astros can't keep Correa. On Springer, he's the guy I've felt would fit Astros budget on a free agent deal.
Pitchers shouldn't protect Astros hitters. It should be up to Commish, umps, and if they fail, Baker.
Not much into pitching mechanics regarding injuries, but this (granted isn't close to max effort) looks a lot easier.
You mean retaliate? umps should just issue pregame warnings for every Astros game. Let the opposing team decide if they want to lose a pitcher or not.
Quadrupling your investment in 10 years, sounds like a good deal to me. I guess that first billion really is the hardest.
Mets are in the largest market in America and also own a sports network (SNY) the Mets are one of the most valuable teams in baseball. Astros aren’t close to that really.
They're not that far away either... net worth $2 billion, which usually gets exceeded in a sales price based on future valuations. As it is, the Mets aren't even able to sell at that price... so not even sure what the point of this discussion is.
Nah bro, this season is kinda tell us what this team is really made of. When you face adversity after overwhelming success, your true character will come through. I'm hoping this is a f--king viking invasion of MLB year for our boys, but we'll see what happens. Hang in there.
Yes, that's what I meant. As I've said before, there's a right way and a wrong way to do it, and you have to preserve the ability to pitch inside and move guys off the plate/make them uncomfortable crowding it. There's a huge difference between going at someone's head and going in on their hands. Or dotting them in the ass. I hope none of this bullshit happens, personally.
