Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess).

4-25 Philip Humber, RHP vs. Clay Buchholz, RHP 5:35

4-26 Erik Bedard, LHP vs. Ryan Dempster, RHP 6:10

4-27 Brad Peacock, RHP vs. Felix Doubront, LHP 6:10

4-28 Bud Norris, RHP vs. TBA 12:35

    Buchholz is 4-0 with a .90 ERA

Please let the baseball gods be kind to the Astros.

If Bedard is still limited to a 75pc, he wont make it out of the 3rd tonight at the rate he is going.

You know, I could almost live with our offense, but our pitching is just horrid.

You almost have to wonder how things would have come out if we had gotten Appel last draft, paid him, and threw him at the major leagues this year. Could he have been worse than Bedard, Humber or Peacock?

    Sigh...

I think our offense has been better than expected.

Our pitching has been worse. Though I have at least been encouraged by Peacock's stuff at times.

Hate losing to the red sox. Their fans are the biggest punks in baseball. NYY fans are obnoxious but don't have the simultaneous Napoleon complex (from the years of losing) and the arrogant cockiness of their decade of success. I was even rooting against them last week when they were trying to win for the city after the bombs.

Peacock has some plus pitches with his change-up and 11-5 curve (not quite 12-6 but pretty close). I wonder how long his leash is.. hoping the Astros stick with him and give him a chance to figure it out against ML hitters.

I havent been able to catch that many games. Do you feel this is because they are missing their spots, they are pitching too much for contact, or they just don't have the stuff?

I mean if they were giving up most of the runs in the 4-6 innings, we could say they have the stuff, but they just are not consistent or need to mix up a bit more or something. But to consistently give up all these runs in the first few innings makes me think otherwise.
