I liked the fight. More of what we are used too. No reason for the one inning to get away from us though. Morton fields the bunt and its a much different game. Defense has been letting us down lately.
Oh, he didn't choke two times in a row tonight? Give me a break. We don't live in a vacuum. Altuve is the MVP, but he was 1-5 and choked twice in the last two innings tonight. That sucks.
Must win today in my opinion. Maybe not mathematically but psychologically they have a putz in the opposing mound. Light his ass up and get back on the right track. If they manage only 1 or 2 runs against this softball pitcher we are in serious trouble
13 games up. The people behind us keep losing. All is well. It sure ain't as much fun as it was earlier this year. Hope we see that again in the playoffs! Still time to get the ship right. I'm as cynical as the rest, but this team just has a different feel to it than years past.
Hopefully JD Davis looks better tonight or he should be sent down for the guy who hit 3 bombs in 29 AB's. I like Centeno's bat in there though. He is really swinging it well.
Brian McCann has gone 12-for-81 (.148) from July 1 till now. That is nearly pitcher-level plate production. It's true he's had some hard-hit balls that happened to go straight to defenders, and he had the near-HR the other night, but no matter how we slice it or dice it, McCann is struggling. If he's injured, he needs to go to the DL as soon as Gattis gets back. If he's just tired and banged up (as I presume all catchers are this time of year), he needs to only be catching around 30% of the games while leaving the rest to Centeno (or Gattis when the White Bear returns). We need a refreshed McCann in the playoffs, not some guy who just barely hobbles into October.
The Chicago White Sox series and last night's game was our 1994 Rockets' late-season game against the Mavericks. Our aberration. We will now return to championship form.
I agree, he is the one player in whom I have very little confidence. Everyone else is either doing well or has been so good for so long that I can cut them some slack. Too often, McCann is McCan't these days.
