Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess).

9-23 Jordan Lyles, RHP vs. Derek Holland, LHP 7:05 on FSSW

9-24 Brad Peacock, RHP vs. Yu Darvish, RHP 7:05 on FSSW

9-25 Dallas Keuchel, LHP vs. Martin Perez, LHP 7:05 on FSSW

Astros could eliminate the Rangers from the Wild Card if we just took 2 out of 3 right.

    This is our Playoffs.

I also believe the Astros officially clinched the top pick with yesterday's loss.

Good time for a three game win streak.

Statistically, no we cant. They are 1.5 back with 7 still to play. But, a series win, particularly a sweep could put them in dire straits.

So the opportunity still exists to go to the off-season on a positive note. The Rangers are only 39-35 at home (45-36 on the road). So just maybe their mediocre home play will give our guys an opening.

Cant think of a better team to throw a wrench at and contribute to a possible playoff non-appearance. Might go a ways to creating the rivalry many claim is already in place. One thing is certain. If we do take the series and the Rangers go on to miss the playoffs, their guys will remember Houston next season. Ahhhh, what a fond memory that would be :)

If it is going to happen, Lyles better pitch a good game in his season finale. With Yu going tomorrow, it goes without saying we'd better get games 1 and 3. The Rangers are 5-15 this month averaging right at 3.3 runs per game. They are scuffling; would love to put a big hurt into their WC chances!

If we pulled off a miracle and won all 3, and the Indians & Rays won those same nights, then the Rangers would be eliminated. Only way they are going down this series.

It really would be poetic justice if we win this series or even hopefully sweep them. It was Nolan Ryan who was really pushing for our move to the AL (sore spot here for many on the board, my apologies), and I'm pretty sure his thinking was that he could beat up on us and it would greatly benefit his team. This serves as a perfect time to stick it to him and the Rangers. Let's go Stros!!

I want to win these games! The ultimate punch in the nuts to the Rangers. Actually, we've trolled them all year

    1. Marwin breaking up Yu's perfect game
    2. Lance Berkman contract -- dude was already done
    3. JMax's grand slam last night (still giggling over that one)
    4. Hopefully taking a couple games this week!

    Another out on the bases...

At least that was a reasonable decision.

A realistic, perhaps even optimistic goal in this series, is to simply avoid getting swept.

Good to see Astros on TV and gooder to see crap Rangers fans bailing on a playoff chase after a month of bad ball.

Dominguez struck out on a ball in the dirt, and Altuve got thrown out trying to advance to 2nd on the pitch.

The Astros are officially the Rangers' b****es...as if they weren't already. It's disgusting how the Rangers dominate the Astros. I don't even think the Astros players care about this rivalry. They just love losing to the Rangers I guess. Are they scared of the Rangers? Do they need a hug?
