I was so confused. I was like that is clearly over his head. You could make a season's worth of gaffes just in this one game.

i was afraid i was going to get called on that. didn't know how else to quickly describe it.

he ended up making the catches with his arm outstretched and poorly positioned.

Instead of watching the ball, he was looking at Andre McCutcheon not really moving, and not running back... So he was saying "CF has a play on it.... This isn't going to get out of this big ballpark... Oh wait...."

How or why the Astros don't make a change is beyond me... He's not a great analyst, and he has absolutely no business ever doing PBP.

Ashby is like the fans at the ballpark who get up for every flyball that gets to the outfield. Except he also can't recognize actual home runs either.

I mean this guy played baseball for a living.

Well seeing how high ash and Blumm are maybe he couldn't judge it correctly? Just trying to find anything to help Ash out and understand him

And making lazy runs to get to those poorly positioned stabs. One of which nearly snowconed out. Not to mention, on the ball up against the LF (side) wall, he sauntered over to pick it up. Never going to see him pull a Rasmus and unexpectedly throw a runner out going for a likely 2B

Ball hit pretty well to CF. Not enough. Big yard. McCuttchen back.

Is he even watching the game?

Off the bat it looked crushed. But....

They are sitting dead center and Mc was jogging like he had it.

I don't blame him for messing up.

Or why the Astros let him go before he worked for the Blue Jays...

He must literally be announcing just for the free concessions/road trips. Doesn't require a paycheck. I mean, how could anybody pay for this???

As long as he doesn't pull a Rasmus and hit for a .211 average, I can live with it.
