Apparently Espada is saying it's not a setback but team is being smart with his buildup so taking it slow. Hopefully it's the truth.
Not the least bit surprising if you've been monitoring the news. Will be the 2nd year in a row Verlander has spent early season months on the IR. Makes the conspiracy-theorist in me wonder if he's really hurt or if this is planned by both himself and the teams to make every attempt that he's healthy and in form for late season/postseason. Legit or planned, the question is "how long?" and whether the franchise thinks they can weather the storm at the top of the rotation w/o Verlander and still make the playoffs or whether they need to make a T.O.R. move. I think I know the answer, but personally, I would prefer the team invest in the T.O.R. with this news because the AL West is probably going to be no joke this season
At this point we have no idea if this is just taking his time getting back or if it is something more serious. I am a little nervous about the truthfulness from management on our team.
If Houston wants to upgrade from Singleton then Brandon Belt is probably a much better value than JD Davis. That said, for <$5M/yr I wouldn’t mind him as a stopgap replacement for Bregman; Davis can hit.
Montgomery was a huge thorn on the Astros side. Our bats just couldn't figure him out. Every serious AL contender should be seriously considering him for that alone.
I suspect the Dodger will let Yamamoto go cheap... like your mom cheap... Ouch... makes bad Framber look respectful...
