I love Devenski and obviously want to get the win tonight, but it does kind of suck for Fiers to get pulled two outs before getting the chance for a win. This is one of his best starts of the season.
Credit to Hinchy for being willing to make the correct move there. This quick hook plus being willing to skip his start so early in the season is pretty telling. Hinch knows Fiers sucks. Fiers may be at the end of his rope. Peacock soon.
That's why I want to know their thought process. Maybe it doesn't bother Ground Control that much? I have no idea, but if Luhnow thought it was a major problem **** would have gotten changed last season if not before.
Good for Fiers not getting an L, while trying to get the W He'll probably get a couple of cheap wins in relief before season's end.
Could be, but it's not even May 1 and we're up 5 in the loss column. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a couple more starts.
Also, Peacock is probably neck and neck with Feliz on the bullpen pecking order, right behind Harris. Fiers doesn't have enough control to be reliable out of the bullpen.
