As always, no PBP in the thread. If you need that try one of the game cast sites. Keep discussion to this series. If it is not about this series it goes somewhere else. 8-12 Bud Norris, RHP vs. Nathan Eovaldi, RHP 9:10 on FSH 8-13 Wandy Rodriguez, LHP vs. Clayton Kershaw, LHP 9:10 on FSH 8-14 Jordan Lyles, RHP vs. Hiroki Kuroda, RHP 3:10 on FSH
I don't know but I would say that over the previous walk-off losses and heartbreak moments that the Astros have had earlier this week, this was an improvement.
Stellar pitching is a rare thing for this team and its a pity to lose in such a game. But my 2nd worst way to lose. Being up 3 or 4 runs in the top of the 9th, and losing it in the bottom of the 9th is worse to me.
A .500 record is still attainable. And Kaz Matsui could return to MLB, not miss a game all season and win the Triple Crown. Impossible is nothing.
Bud Norris is a waste of talent of that team. Dude could easily win 15 gms if he had a legit major league offense behind him.
A waste of talent on this team is a player who has no chance of contributing 3, 4 or 5 years from now. Bud doesn't fall under that category. Wandy is a much better example but we couldn't move him due to the long contract Wade gave him.
This series is like two teethless children gumming each other to death. The curse of the Dodgers is that their record doesn't even represent how terrible this season has been for them. Another mid round draft pick... that we might not have the owner/money to sign... *sigh*
The Dodgers curse may become the Astros if when Crane takes over, he doesnt sign Springer and/or next years top drafts because of the Wandy / Myers contracts.
I'll go o, o, o, u... another low-scoring affair... both pitchers excellent... Kershaw just a little better.
Two dominant strike outs and a web gem aren't too shabby either. Fun to watch a pitcher's duel of this caliber.
