As always, no PBP in the thread. If you need that try one of the game cast sites. Keep discussion to this series. If it is not about this series it goes somewhere else.

6-29 Bud Norris, RHP vs. Paul Maholm, LHP 1:20 No TV

6-30 J.A. Happ, LHP vs. Matt Garza, RHP 3:05 on FSH

7-1 Wandy Rodriguez, LHP vs. Travis Wood, LHP 1:20 on FSH

Game one currently in a delay.

Will the Astros win a road series?

I partially blame this game on the front office for not changing yesterday's game to a day game or insisting on a night game tonight. While they may not have been able to change the Chicago game, they should definitely have been able to change last night's game time.

WGN rewards us with a kid eating boogers immediately after Martinez knocks in run #2. Nice job Cubbie control room

He's old-school Wandy. Cruise until the big inning where the wheels fall off and then he's done.

Hopefully Happ can finish the game strong.

Taking away the horrible start v. San Fran, Happ has had some pretty great #s the last 8 or 9 starts.

    anybody watching the WGN telecast?

the announcer (brenley, i guess) was mentioning that jim thome is about to get traded to the Orioles. On the pitch that he says that, the batter then fouls the ball into the stands. The fan who caught it was wearing an Orioles jersey. At a cubs/stros game.

    Freaky stuff.

Bad play by Schafer, but also a terrible throw by Martinez. I realize that as an outfielder you err on the side of bouncing the throw, but geez, it wasn't that long a throw and he bounced it about halfway.

Good move by both sides. Thome belongs in the AL and he will give the Orioles a really solid DH. Even at this advanced age, he has been a really good power bat this season.

In return, the Phillies are getting a couple of nice prospects in catcher Gabriel Lino and pitcher Kyle Simon. I watched Simon pitch a bit in college at Arizona and I always liked him. Bulldog mentality, good sinker.

Another game, another 0-9 for the Astros on their first look at the pitcher. Its almost uncanny. And yes, the pitcher has a no-hitter through four (again).

Lowrie is in one hell of a slump.

Three games and not even twenty posts. Were there even a dozen people who watched this series?

I watched the 2nd game. Have been too busy otherwise.

I have a hard time stomaching being swept by the Cubs. We are only 2.5 games from being the worst team in baseball.
