Please keep this to talk about the series. As usual no Play-by-Play, or general Astros talk. If you need play by play see one of the many other sites that have game casts. 9-6 Wandy Rodriguez, LHP vs. Casey Coleman, RHP 1:20 on FSH 9-7 Nelson Figueroa, RHP vs. Carlos Silva, RHP on 7:05 FSH 9-8 Brett Myers, RHP vs. Randy Wells, RHP 7:05 on FSH
What a turn of events there... Carlos nearly made a spectacular play for the 3rd out and a 4-0 lead. He throws to the wrong side of Wandy though and 1 batter later, it's 4-3.
Kind of funny to see Bourn smack Soto in the face after the collision. I think he was just saying "good job" and meant to tap his shoulder but ended up catching his face.
CJ having a real good day at the plate; just drew a walk. He'd been having some rough ABs in recent games but he was apparently feeling ill so that may have been a factor to some extent.
Cubs not going to pinch hit for Coleman here in the 5th with a 102 pitch count and a man on with no outs?
This is pretty much par for the course for Wandy though at Wrigley. In 6 starts there the past 4 years his ERA is over 5 and hitters hit almost 0.300 against him. Maybe it is just easier to see his release point against the ivy.
That combined with the bottom of the 3rd has been the story. Still not sure why Mills had Keppinger bunt Bourn over to 3rd earlier with no outs.
He had the 3rd lowest HR% of all our qualified pitchers coming into this game: http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/HOU/2010-pitching.shtml#players_ratio_pitching::4 He's an aggressive pitcher so he'll probably give up some long balls but, overall, he's been really impressive this season.
