    SLAMMA LAMMA DING DONG!

Man...what a great way to make my first post in the season in an Astros game thread...

I've tried holding off all year because I know the board will suck the life out of me if I start posting about the Astros...but ******* I couldn't resist.

This lineup is looking ALOT better with guys like Scott and Berkman turning it around. Is that enough to catch the Brewers?

The only problem I see is that I doubt Wandy can keep up what he's doing. He's had hot starts like this before then the clock struck midnight...

It was great seeing Morgan at the top of lineup instead of Biggio though. If anything I would like to see them swapped permanently in the batting order on days that Loretta doesn't start for Biggio.

Edit: One last thing. Everett is at .191. When do you pull the plug? Do you at all as long as 1-6 are as good as today? I love his defense as much as anyone but where do you set the line?

Everett's defense is just too good..my guess is he'll be back around his career averages when the season plays..not impressive by any means but good enough considering his defense. If the guys expected to hit do, then any struggles at the plate by him won't matter.

Crap, I had hoped to post large pictures of a Rockets celebration . :(

I always find red unis against a red backdrop very picturesque ...

For those who didn't see it, Pence just made a spectacular catch in center to rob Chris Duncan of extra bases.

Too bad Lee is the only guy who knows how to hit.

the difference is day and night with this astros offense sometimes.

    8 for 17 w/ RISP yesterday

    8 LOB thru 4 today.

top that off with the rocket returning to the yankees.

just can't get a hit in a clutch situation to save our life ... It's amazing how we get 13 runs on the day we don't need them

every time we score more than our quota of 1-2 runs in any single game, you can guarentee the bats will be completely dead the next day.

another series loss racked up for the good guys :).

it's funny that backe and jennings being out for extended periods of time haven't hurt us NEARLY as much as our completely inept offense has.

Man, I'm starting to get tired of this false hope the Astros give me at the start of every game.

We always seem to score early.....but then those runs/run are the only ones we'll have all game.

Figures, we score 13 yesterday when we need 1 to win. And score 1 today when we need 4.

Biggio has not been the problem with our offense

yeah so I guess the 8th best OPS for 2nd basemen in the NL is really makes him "terrible" by your estimation. It's not great, but its not terrible. You hated him being in there from the beginning of the season and no matter what he did/does, you won't look at it objectively.
