Hey, McCann is legit but no clear cut 2nd catcher. Castro has a decent offensive 1st half and you never know.

    my thoughts exactly.

will make for a fun poll question if all of these trades go down.

My pretty safe guess is that the Astors get the minimum 1 AS game rep and it isn't Castro. Even on a very bad team, I could see multiple other players getting the nod over him, esp. coming off the knee injury where they may take it easy on his workload early in the season. It also seems like his bat will take a couple more years to come around if it ever does at this level. He posted a .573 OPS as a rook not that that necessarily indicates a whole lot given the sample size and his lack of experience.

Yadier Molina is a clear cut 2nd. He gets tons of votes despite not being a very good hitter. He's popular and arguably the best defensive catcher in the game.

Buster Posey if he returns as expected. Carlos Ruiz. Soto could return to form.

Too hard to guess... depends on what happens before Sunday and the start of next season with the current roster.

If I were to assume that Bourn, Pence, Wandy and Myers were all gone, I'd then probably say Norris or somebody in the pen over Castro, even if Castro wasn't coming off injury.

If any of Bourn, Pence or Wandy are still here, I'd guess one of them.

    Plenty of candidates.

Melancon, Altuve (if he continues to hit well), Norris, Lyles, Bourn (if still around).

More likely our best pitcher gets the nod... always can use plenty of pitchers for an ASG

Emotional moment for Hunter as he gives hugs and handshakes in the dugout on his way out of the game.

Seeing Barmes pick it at short tonight makes me even more upset that he has been deemed untouchable. National League contenders would be all over a guy like Barmes who they can bring off the bench as a guy with some pop in his bat to pinch hit for pitchers. Plus, you don't have to replace him defensively if you don't want to since he can play the crap outta short.

We've officially taken over the Pirates' former role of cellar dwellar... eager to flip all of our top players for prospects at the deadline. Can't wait for 2015... seriously.
