Was really looking forward to facing this punk Thornton after he got so full of himself after beating an injury riddled team last time. When Springer hit that BOMB it was immensely satisfying.
You'd think the Toronto guy would give it to the former Toronto guy, especially considering he was far and away the most effective guy.
Best record in baseball. This board has lied to me. 2 weeks ago I was told attaining this was impossible and the Yankees/Dodgers were on a different tier. The Astros simply weren't motivated and pathetically lost a few games. If I didn't know any better, it seems every team loses some games on occasion.
Dodgers lost 5-4 after being up 3 runs. Yeah! Not only are we 1st in the L, but we are now within 2 runs of the overall scoring differential with the Dodgers as well. I remember just a couple of weeks ago they were like 20 or 30 runs ahead. Geaux "Stros!!!
People talk about which player is the heart of the Astros and I think Springer is right up there with Tuve. Would love to see him spend his entire career in Houston but it probably won't happen. What's amazing about that graphic is that Springer is almost on pace with Bagwell and Berkman, one HOFer and one near HOF'er. Bagwell didn't get to 150 HR's until his age 29 season (this is Springer's age 29 season). Berkman got there a little earlier (age 28 season). Crazy to think if he stays healthy, Springer has almost another 2/3's of a career worth of counting stats to go.
