I'd say less risky instead of much better approach. Alvarez's approach should keep his BA up, but his power right now is being generated almost solely on him hitting the crap out of the ball.
Alvarez will 100% be up this month. Maybe that is stating the obvious. 8.5 game lead. Again if we were 8.5 back he would already be up.
Those scouts were typically talking about high school players years away from majors. Alvarez is days away.
They said the same thing about Tucker the night before his call up (when our AAA affiliate was in Fresno). Hmmmmm.....
Could give us some more clues? No White, Gurriel at 1B, SuperJack at SS, Bregs back at 3B (that's how we'd need to align the IF while we wait for Diaz and Correa to return if we replace White with Alvarez).
No one knows anything about future for certain even about MLB players. Pretending all uncertainty is the same is more like the scouts in moneyball (though opposite side spectrum) than projecting guys days away from the majors.
What? You are way over complicating this. What’s bigger? The list of guys with crazy good AAA numbers who became “rare talents” or Guys with those numbers who didn’t become rare talents? I’m not saying anything other than that.
