You're assuming Springer/Correa will get rolling...right now Correa looks like Adam Everett at the plate.
We gave up a lot of pitching prospects. We held on to our hitters like Tucker, Alvarez. No one probably wanted the likes of Fisher, White and Davis. If our season goes more south soon, I'd like some time for the young 'uns like Whitley to taste the big leagues. Give more innings to Cionel and Osuna. That's the only interest I would have. I don't like to watch our hitters not know what to do during their at-bats.
Listening to the Radio feed, did Julia even win the race? good news Altuve already headed to Tacoma, expected for the Mariners series. I for one welcome this challenge by the A's. * *don't quote me if we don't make the playoffs
Because you only watch the Astros and have no sense of what a baseball season is like. Assuming today holds, the Astros have been shut out 8 times this season. How much has the average MLB team been shut out? 8 times.
Are we sure we can hold off the Mariners? Curse of the world champions. No one has repeated since 20 years ago. Fatigue and wear and tear
Haha Well since we won't know when we can win the whole thing again, might as well mine it for all that it's worth. For sure we won't be having another one while we're floundering.
I don't think Luhnow and the FO will do a panic move. They did say staying on top is hard, how teams on the bottom catch up fast to the winners. They're in uncharted waters. Aim is to build a consistent contender.
Problem is there’s almost zero indication that this years incarnation of Correa and Springer are even in the same ballpark as last years. To think they’ll just turn it on isn’t a viable philosophy if we want to get back to the WS this year. Our offense has been more broken than not this year, at least compared to last year. We really needed one of Fisher, Davis or Tucker to cement themselves but instead they’ve been zeroes. We really shouldn’t have expected Yulli or especially Marwin to have incredible years.
I see a hand. I see the plate. I do not see the hand touching the plate. Its too blurry to tell. Call stands. Out at the plate.
It's hard to win a championship, repeat etc. Would just be very disappointing if the Astros possibly totally collapse and don't even make the playoffs with this pitching staff. Hell to me it's disappointing with this starting pitching staff if they settle for a wild card.
The review booth in New Jersey can sync up multiple angles at the same time. They got it right. Let's move on.
2 damn hits, actually 1 if not for a pitcher trying to finish the game hurriedly. It is hard to watch a team destroy their All-Star pitchers. At least this wasn't in late Sept, we would be done.
