they can, but not on the road. How bad are we on the road? Well, the pitcher tonight has a 4.21 ERA in 5 years in the minors in 111 games. The problem is that ALL right handed pitchers look like Jim Palmer when we are playing on the road. And guys, we have more games on the road than home games for the rest of the season. Are we 2 and 13 in last 15 games? This game is a MUST win, we are facing an average minor leaguer, so we should hit this guy hard.
Brooks looks like garbage. He is leaving his breaking pitches in the middle of the plate (maybe slightly higher). I don't understand why no one is making solid contact.
OAK has a level of hostility in their ballpark. And the low-pitched drum before and during the pitch... nice.
The bottom of the order is garbage and Altuve makes half the line up bad. With Feldman on the mound we need runs... Sit Castro... Too bad we can't let the pitcher hit for Marisnick.... Also how long until the manager realizes Altuve needs a break? Usually they let him slump about ten days.
Castro's bat looks heavy in the last 2 or 3 games, but i like him catching to Feldman as he throws a lot of off speed stuff that bounces in front of the home plate.
