17 games into the season, and we've already won a series against every team in our division. kinda crazy.
I guess here comes the feast. Offensive *explosion*. Feels good to beat the A's. It seems like they've been clubbing us for a long time now.
Hopefully inning 10 last night was the beginning. God it's great watching a real baseball team in this city again.
When the hitting picks up...and even if the pitching dips a little...this team will be a tough beat every single night. I might be getting ahead of myself, but this is some exciting stuff.
The Astros scored 3 runs in the opening series, since then we have averaged 4.3 RPG, that would be good for 12th in the MLB, so this team is already starting to score. We have done this without much from Springer and Carter Springer 2014 First 82 PA .224/.280/.263 2015 First 71 PA .183/.282/.283 Carter 2014 First 68 PA .123/.250/.211 2015 First 60 PA .132/.233/.189 There's obviously no guarantee these guys will make similar turnarounds, but it would seems much more likely than not that these guys are due for some mashing. Carter has been hitting the ball much harder recently, he's gonna start driving it soon. Gattis too has a much better track record than his current numbers. A lot to be excited about
I refuse to watch games that Wojo pitches. He doesn't throw strikes. Misses a ton of bats, but god he can't find the strike zone. Was he like this in the minors?
Seriously man, the guy has made TWO starts....and you refuse to watch when he pitches?? Ok For me, i'll be rooting for the sweep while sippin on Miller Lite!
It's good to see Marisnick back in the lineup. Margo in the lineup for the third straight game. Today's lineup: 2B Jose Altuve (R) RF George Springer (R) SS Jed Lowrie (S) DH Evan Gattis (R) 1B Chris Carter (R) LF Colby Rasmus (L) 3B Marwin Gonzalez (S) C Jason Castro (L) CF Jake Marisnick (R)
Last year he did the sammeeeeee crap. It infuriates me because he has some nasty stuff, but he just doesn't throw strikes. He could be really good, but needs to work on command.
Cool, but he didn't pitch in the big leagues last year, he made his major league debut this year He is certainly not a top or even mid rotation guy, but someone who can hopefully keep us in games, and when the games are close late we usually have the better bullpen (when was the last time we could say that) I know Hinch and some teammates have talked about how much they like him as a true competitor In any case, we won't force you to watch GO STROS!
He has never had control issues in the minors, he's only averaged 2.5 BB/9. Major league hitters don't swing at the same stuff minor league hitters do. It's 2 freaking starts. You probably would have shipped off Keuchel too because he was really bad his first season.
Yea really nice to see Jake back in there, he has had a great start to the season and with him back we have 3 center field quality guys in the OF
