The way Hinch handles the staff is very concerning. He has no feel for when a guy should be pulled vs. left in, both SPs and the bullpen.
Devinski is a starter. He could have kept going for at least one more inning. Hinch being cute again. **** him. Hope he's fired soon.
Easy answer here. He needs to pitch 4 games from now in a blowout situation. There is literally no explanation.
Smart moves after this series would be: Fire Hinch. Cut Gomez. Move Devenski into rotation. Let McHugh and Fiers cage match to death to see who loses spot in rotation first. Consider moving Feliz into rotation. Get rid of cage match winner. Bring up Worth, Reed, and Bregman.
Interesting how there wasn't a single post complaining about the Devenski move until *after* Feldman gave up the HR. Backseat managing at it's finest here.
What exactly is the point of having people on the 40 man roster if the only people we want to see moved up are not on it?
You know what this smells like? A trade... We need to clear guys off our 40-man, so maybe a Correa injury really puts the pressure on Luhnow. I expect Luhnow to be up all night contemplating what to do especially with draft. An injury to Correa couldn't have come at a worse time. Now, he'll have to make corresponding moves and moving Marwin to SS for a few days is average at best. If it's longer... please bring Bregman up.
But Hinch should know that Devenski doesn't give up homeruns. Only Feldman does. Why didn't he know that?!?
Feldman has been solid out of the pen this year. Devenski hasn't been invincible, esp when he's gone through lineups multiple times. And yes, holding him at 3 innings allows him to be available sooner. I'm fine w/the move to Feldman. Didn't like the move to Altuve at SS vs. Castro or Gattis at 1B, but oh well. What's interesting is that so many have said June 10th as a potential date for Reed or Bregman. Now with the Correa injury, we might see 1 of them...wonder if it was coming either way.
