Not too long ago, people were more than happy with him being the one the Astros eventually "let go" or trade to make enough salary space for everybody else. As it is, the Astros are guaranteed to have his best years of his career.... I could see them possibly working something out. And if that's the last MLB AB for Fisher for awhile, what a way to go out.
I pray that he isn't part of a trade for a pitcher....man this guy just exudes confidence. Looks comfortable in the box all the time, sweet swing, and has been nails in the outfield....plays left in minute maid like he was born there.
I think he's looked good Not too long ago a lot of people were freaking out about hit him hitting leadoff when he was in his slump. Also, really hope they keep Fisher over Aoki but something tells me they won't - I've really liked his approach.
Would it be unprecedented to give Aoki his walking papers at $5.5M? Fisher is a better hitter, fielder, and pretty damn sure his wheels might rival Jakes.
True. And still sub-average on defense. Chances are he turns it around offensivel, the season is still somewhat early. He's been a better for the 2 previous seasons and he's young and healthy (I think).
I think Hinch has a good problem now trying to decide that. Peacock and Fiers have both locked it down over the last 3 weeks or so.
