Luckily they can f**k right off. It's more than apparent this team needs another starter, and we've both seen how much they need it for a few weeks now. In a short series I feel good enough with Verlander/Cole/Miley but in order to get there, and have home field advantage we need help now, immediately.
I was disheartened when Esh and Blummer were talking about how the Astros say they just know he's got wicked stuff and is just so close to locking it down. No. I really hope they don't actually believe that. It should be "This is his last chance for a long while." They said the Astros like his soft contact. Well, it's still a hit if the batters have all day to wait for a ball to curve into the strikezone and just punch it the opposite way. It's like they're expecting him to be their new Keuchel. No. Keuchel had enough control over his pitches to win a Cy Young without velocity. This is completely different.
Keuchel had ERAs well over 5 his first two years and 200+ innings in the league. I don't know what they see in Valdez, but if they really believe in him, they are probably going to give him some time to figure it out.
