Have missed most of this game. I guess I'll DVR the replay. I liked Esh and Blum talking about Oswalt's incredible memory, and it made me realize that I'd like to have Oswalt up in the booth some night. Astros legend with a pitcher's perspective. It was great when Nolan was up there. Let's do it again. I do hope the Angels have woken the sleeping bear as Stanton just said. It shouldn't take something like this, but this is what this is what the Astros are capable of. So let's keep it up.
11 Ks against a team that doesn't strike out. So damn good. The Cole free agency will be a good test point for how much Luhnow/crew really value an elite pitcher in his prime. He checks all the boxes for someone you commit a long term deal to but who knows if they believe in giving more than 3 FA years to a high dollar ace.
Which we need in case Los comes back a little slow against STL. At least we will have Diaz back regardless
It’s crazy, it feels like the team has been mediocre the entire summer and losing a lot of ground, then I look at the standings and we’re just two back of the Yankees for the best record in the AL. Granted we lost ground in the division race but I thinks that’s mostly due to Oakland actually being good.
Astros also have the most Ks against the Angels as a team this season as of tonight with 14 (thank you, Pressly.) They're also tied for second with the Rays with 12 Ks against the Angels in another game. Our buddy C. Morton had 9 of those in that Rays game. Feels good all around. --- Every Astros starting batter had a hit tonight, and every one of them but Reddick scored a run. Team RISP: 5-11 Team LOB: 4 2-out RBIs: 5 Yeah, this is nice. More, please.
