Gomez has been better, so hopefully that solves that.

If your defense is shifted toward the pull side, why pitch outside?

If Gomez continues hitting as he is, we don't need a cfer

Right now the team is hitting, only problem is DH.

With 13 pitchers, we could easily use him only vs Righties

Especially with so many guys who are capable of pitching multiple innings

To keep players from cheating. If the analytics show that when the Astros shift towards the pull side, they never pitch outside, then that gives the batter a huge advantage. He knows that anytime he sees the shift, he has a smaller zone to worry about.

It's the same reason that pitchers will still throw to parts of the plate where a batter might excel.

Right, 3B and CF have come around, you still have a hole in LF/DH/1B. Who fits that bill?

How did the wind not blow that pop up into fair territory for another triple?

Come on, Big Papi can have that OPS out of the world, but Altuve is the MVP as he steals and good defense at 2b.

If only Altuve were bigger, he might make it

Lousy single. Ash needs more faith that we bat around.

Ash & Blum having no recollection of the first game of this series. Ash "I recall we took the lead early and ran with it." As I recall we were losing 2-0 after 6.

Yes. Also you can pitch to get a gb to places he might not plan on, ie rolling over on an outside breaking ball, etc....

Reactionarily, I don't like the shift most of the time, but I trust that they have more data that I do.

Or Gurriel, as you could slide Valbuena to 1B.
