Altuve back. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Altuve is back in the lineup <a href="http://t.co/UeXIqk3h32">pic.twitter.com/UeXIqk3h32</a></p>— Brian McTaggart ⚾️ (@brianmctaggart) <a href="https://twitter.com/brianmctaggart/status/613112790547443712">June 22, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Altuve needs to bat 1st or 7th or 8th, he doesn't take enough pitches and that can kill the stolen base threat that our first two batters have.
He was great to start off the year at hitting with RISP, think that might be part of Hinch's thinking. I agree with you conceptually though.
He's the better CF. Hell, he may be a better CF than Marisnick (but Marisnick is not the better RF than Springer).
Actually, i prefer him at third over first 2 spots, why??? Because he does not get on base enough because he just don't walk. Now, he can give you a nice average of .290, meaning, with men on base, he can DRIVE runs.
Why bat Altuve behind Gattis? Jose's job right now in this lineup is pretty simple (and something he does quite well)... don't strike out. With Springer/Correa in front of him (good speed), it mitigates the GIDP factor. You get them on base, and he's either in position to move them over... or drive them in.
