I was just expressing the mindset of "if you know you're going to lose, how would you rather lose?" Of course I'd take a fighting chance to win the ALDS over having to play a play-in game and then play in the ALDS... although I think in any case, the "winner" of the play-in game may not be at the severe disadvantage that everybody thinks (especially since they may not necessarily be pitching their ace there).
MMP giveth, MMP taketh away. Pujols out is a HR in any other ballpark (and next year at MMP)... Altuve's out is a 2B in any other ballpark. Who said this was a hitters park? Astros should really clobber Weaver tonight.
Jeez... how can this ump be that wrong on that 65 mph fastball? If anything, those with discerning eyes should be able to see these slow-pitch balls very well.
And now Correa's out is a 2B anywhere else... but a single at MMP (and thrown out because of it). Corrected for ballpark factors... this is a 1-1 game. And if you correct it for the umpire factor (presuming weaver pitches the same way)... this is a 2-1 lead.
How is Angel Hernandez still an everyday ump after all these years? Either its really hard to lose your job, or he's just that much better in every single game I don't see him in.
"A 2006 Sports Illustrated poll of Major League players listed Hernandez as the third worst umpire in MLB." Wonder if he's #1 now
