A sweep would seemingly lock up at least the WC baring a true meltdown over the last 9 games. Particularly if the Twins stumble as well. We can win all 3 of these games, hope they pull it off.

2-1 against the A's was nice. Sweep would be ideal, but just gotta win the series. Gotta build some momentum before the Rangers come into town.

Finally got a little momentum, gotta keep it going. Every game is critical at this point.

their pitching is atrocious. i'll be damned if nick tropeano comes back to cause us to miss the post-season.

2 out of 3 locks up the WC. a sweep, and i'd give us the division edge.

great, great bounce back the past 2 games. absolutely enormous.

set the tone tonight, mr. keuchel.

If Keuchel pitches tonight, does he have a chance to pitch against the Rangers this weekend?

Yes, he should start the last game of the Rangers series.

Will be there tonight! This end of season stretch is where our young team starts to grow up real fast. I hope that Springer HR gets him going.

We seem to have problems with junk ball pitchers like Weaver. Everyone needs to take about 10 mph off their swings tonight. Just stay back and drive the 70 mph fast ball he's "throwing" up there.

I haven't really noticed enough inconsistency vs any type of pitchers. I've seen us put it on junk ball pitchers and the hard throwing type but I've also seen us be dominated by both types.

Couldn't agree more on Torpedo, the bounce back the past couple of days, and Keuchel needing to really step up tonight. I certainly hope you're right on the 2 of 3, but I just don't know if anything is a given (clinching WC, division, etc.) based on the composition of the next 9 games for the Astros after this series. We've seen how snake bitten we are against the Rangers this year, and then we go on the road (last 3 without a DH). I just hope they win and win at a high clip (.667 sounds good) the last four series.
They've got to figure this dude out (overall 7-11 , 4.74 ERA). Take out the 3 starts against the Astros, and his ERA would be a full half-run higher (5.25), right?

Hoping they can sustain the momentum from the past couple of days. Could be a huge shot in the arm for the guys heading down the home stretch here.

    Go Astros!!!

Twins are right there, too. I wouldn't count them out. The best thing to do is win and hope we can move past the Rangers. Let them worry about the 2nd wild card spot.

i know we all want the division title, and for good reason.

But NYY + KC is better, matchup wise, than TOR.

It's going to be close between KC and TOR for best record (and thus, WC matchup), but it may not be the worst thing to avoid TOR.

A 5 game divisional series trumps any 1 game wild card

Looks like the Rangers won't miss Sonny Gray after all. The A's are keeping him on regular rest (off day today) and he'll pitch the Thursday game against Gallardo. Hope he shuts down their bats!!

Mindblowing. Gotta give the guy credit; he spots that junk wherever he wants to against the Astros. It's gotta change this series.
