For those questioning why Qualls was warming up, wasn't it for the same inning that Sipp was coming in? I could see Hinch having both of them warm up so that the Yankees couldn't better prepare for a specific lefty or righty and kept them on their toes.
Wow my application has 60% from 5PM-10PM there but it states scattered t-storms .. hopefully weather.com is more accurate. I'll would be ticked if it got postponed and moved to Saturday since I am going to USA-Mexico. Sounds like they will get the game in tonight though
Hinch probably let Qualls know it was either him or Neshek. Glad he figured out he could use Sipp more than he was, but still going to need the lefty specialist Perez. Fields is steady in my opinion. I questioned the Kazmir start, otherwise I would say Qualls over him...but hoping for a repeat performance against Royals by Kaz in game 2. Ready to roll with the 'Stros. Let's do this!
Read a weather blog for KC this morning that says a cold front is coming through, and that it's pushing up the chances for rain. 30% is what I'm seeing from TV stations there. I find local TV stations to do a far better job with this than weather.com when I travel. (EDIT) -- and now weather.com is reporting 30%
Yes...you missed it. I had a thread in the Hangout about how I watched the band Rush perform about twenty times at least in different cities over the course of their last tour just from fans standing there periscoping. So, guess you missed it then, too.
That's not reliable. We need to steal at least go 1-1 first two games. Take Game 3 at home with Keuchel with a potential to clinch. If we magically take Game 1, I think Kazmir can give us Game 2. Maybe I'm being to optimistic. Lots of faith in team.
Apps always aim high for rain percentage, as they are selling a product. For instance, if the app was telling you 10% chance of rain and there's a downpour, you'll be pissed at the app and not use it, possibly give it a bad review. If they say 60% and it's sunny, you don't think about it.
No reason to do that when the next game would be at home. Why pitch him on short rest, again, when you get a guy who went 15-0 with a sub 2 era at home in game 3? You don't.
You never know... things happen. Keuchel's pitching style (as stated by many analysts/guys who play baseball) allows him to pitch on short days rest and HE would do it if asked of him. I will say... Highly unlikely though.
Before a series starts, the 2 most important games are 1 and 3. For the visitors team is win one of the first 2, meaning, number 3 is a pivotal game. For that pivotal game we have the best pitcher in baseball pitching at home, so the pressure is on KC to win BOTH games at home, while our goal should be to split. McHugh and Kazmir gives us a great chance to split, go Astros.
In my experience, weather.com takes longer to made adjustments to forecasts than local guys do. And even within a market, different weathermen will give different forecasts, particularly with chance of rain. For instance, as I'm typing this, channel 13 says there's a 20% chance of rain here tomorrow and channel 11 says there's a 10% chance of rain tomorrow.
