    which is exactly my point. why would he rig it in their favor if it obviously looks bad.

    David Stern can do whatever he wants with no negative repercussion. Ppl will talk and get fined. That's it. So I doubt he cares whether it looks suspicious or not because at the end of the day, he is the omnipotent NBA commish.

    Sad but true.

    Solution is simple. Just have a real lottery. One ball for every team that missed the playoffs
    and put them in one of those lotto machines. Teams like the Rockets will get their reward for not tanking. No more losing for Lebron or something like that in the league.
