I am fine with that as well. The playoffs work best for teams that can play slow and fast. Defense is a must as well. Here is hoping we don't enter another collective shooting slump come playoffs team. We can survive with Harden missing from long range as he can drive in at will. Same cannot be said about the rest of our role players.

Not worried at all. We have proved we can win by outscoring, and we have proved we can win by playing defense when we can't score. That is what it comes down to.. DEFENSE!!!
Having Howard and Harden we are bound to be efficient at some point, and there may be nights that we aren't. Howard really needs to work on his Free Throws though, that costs us a lot of points.

There's absolutely a correlation between our offensive efficiency dropping and our defensive efficiency increasing. We're not pushing the pace as much but we're staying home to rebound now which means less fast breaks.

Also, what was our offensive efficiency before TJones got hurt? He's our only legit offensive threat from PF so we need him.

We're one of the worst FT shooting teams also (looking at you Dwight).

Our offense is getting worse but I'm not sure if it's necessarily a problem if it means improving the defense, and clearly it's helped in the winning category.

The equivalent question is: We scored 69 only on the OKC. Are we worried about it?

There are surely a lot of things to be improved/corrected. Ball movement, no ball movement of the players, free throws. But overall you don't panic over one or two games.

Its becoming more and more clear.....we've got to get a secondary ball handler/creator. The burden we are placing on Harden is unsustainable.

there's nothing wrong with a mid range jump shot, especially when you have the grizzlies shooting the 3 ball better than your 5 for 30 thousand attempts. stupid 3 or layup philosophy. 3 or layup, if that doesnt work THEN best shot available. dont keep chucking threes like a **** idiot

Morey is plain stupid. We are the only team to adopt this philosophy and look where it's gotten us. Absolutely nowhere in the playoffs.

Yes, we should be worried. The offense has completely fallen apart for some strange reason. After the Mexico trip there has been a steep decline.

Needed a loss like this early in the season to hopefully get some things right. We havent been ourselves since Mexico. I think with a relatively light week this week, some guys will be able to recharge and refocus hopefully before Dallas comes to town on Saturday.

Cause the Rockets have avg 3pt Shooters.

When you have avg shooter you get avg results, especially when you get down double digits and you start firing hoping you hit.

A visit from the Lakers is the best cure for a slump.

I disagree. Outside of the Warriors that have two of the best 3 point shooters in NBA history, the Rockets are above average in three point shooting. The issue is shot selection. We take too many contested three pointers, three pointers in transition, and forced three pointers outside of the flow of the game. Simply put we are over reliant on the 3 point shot. Live by the 3 die by the 3 applies to teams that cannot differentiate a good 3 pt shot from a bad 3 pt shot. Often times when our outside shots aren't falling we continue to shoot them. That's poor shot selection. When you consider top 3 pt shooting teams outside of the Warrios like the Spurs, they take smart outside shots. No one individually on that team is considered a great 3 point shooter outside of Danny Green and Matt Bonner, but why do they shoot the ball so well? Because they take smart shots. We don't. We need to stop dreaming about loading up on elite 3 point shooters because the reality is 1) they're difficult to find 2) they're one dimensional and 3) the ones that aren't are very expensive, all-star players. Eventually we just have to strap up and play with the lineup we have, or we can keep dreaming about that elusive "third star" or "elite 3 pt shooter that doesn't sacrifice anything on the defensive end".

If we struggle offensively against the Lakers, it's time to panic.

Not being able to hit open shots is absolutely a concern.

    Hopefully the slump ends soon.

100% agree with this statement. They need assists coming from somewhere else. Its too easy for good defensive teams to lock him down because no one else on the roster can set people up.

I'm not worried about our poor shooting that will be fixed. I am worried about Dwight Howard being our 2nd option on offense when he can't score against some of the better post defenders

Worried now? Even if our shooting slump does not continue, we still need to run more sets! Harden padding his stats and trying to be the assist man instead of the hockey-assist is worrisome as well.

That's where we miss Parsons. He is very good in transition.

We are just in a collective slump as a team, Harden needs to be more aggressive on offense and draw more defenders to him, which will open up better looks. In turn, shooters have to make shots go allow Harden to work.
