I don't see the point of cutting Wilfork.

He makes a pretty good lead blocker for goal-line situations.

And he can make field goals in a pinch.

I'll definitely take them back if they are willing to take back up salaries. They shouldn't be receiving "starter" money. All depends on the contracts, but I would assume those guys think they are starters.

We will have about 50 million in cap space. And you need to use it, since there is a salary cap floor.

Foster was basically a non factor for the Texans…there is no need to find anything to replace Foster with, given that he really didn't contribute to our season. Plus, we could use the money. Finding RBs is the easiest thing to do in football if you actually try to get one (taking a late round draft pick doesn't count as trying). If the Texans spend a pick in rounds 1-3 on a RB, they have their guy…plus, plenty of FA will be available. Both options will yield a better RB than Foster.

Wilfork is a dud. Finding a fat ass to replace him will not be difficult, if we are looking to get the same production. I would want something better there.

That's why I listed a proposal to spend our resources in the draft and FA.

We have a solid number of picks and lots of money. As long as it's managed properly, it really shouldnt be difficult to replace these guys. Negative players are a dime a dozen.

Finding RBs is the easiest thing to do but finding good starting caliber RBs like Foster was is not that easy. My post said find a replacement before cutting him and you just stated the same thing.

it's easy to cut players, it's a bigger challenge to find players to bring in. Except your goal is to be like the Jaguars.

We won't be replacing the Pro Bowl level Foster, but that's not who he is today anyways. So replacing him is, quite simply, very easy. We don't need to find a replacement first before cutting him…it's basically a forgone conclusion that he won't be on the roster next season with his current contract. Keeping him on the roster, even if we don't have a proper replacement at the moment, really makes no sense with his 9 million dollar cap hit.

Its hard to say there is a position on the field where we don't need help, but in terms of priority I would list it like this:
    QB
    RB
    WR we need speed
    TE
    OL
    DL
    ILB one that can cover
    DB
    KR/PR

I'm okay with most of this, but I thought Jones was the backbone of the line. You re-sign him definitely. I don't see us releasing Shorts, either, although I'd love a guy in the draft. Someone like Sterling Shepard or Pharoah Cooper.

The difference with BOB and Kubiak is that I see BOB swinging for "that guy" until he gets a hit. Over and over. To me, the "that guy" is a speedy Weller/Edelmn type. I think he thought it'd be Mumph,, and Mumph was okay, but we could do better.

So two firsts & a third for a guy they had a chance to draft? That'd be so Texans.

Clowney then goes on to have a [healthy] all-pro career under Belichick.

rockets go on a huge winning streak and Doc starts smoking some premium gonga.

NFl should have a system similar to the MLB where you can carry your top pick over to the next year by dropping a spot. 2015...with the no.2 pick the texans choose mariot......no sorry mistake..texans pick dante fowler. =)

I'm still not sure Mariota is a BOB guy. only BOB knows what he is into, wants tom brady settles for 2nd best option, hoylett.

    Priorities..

    QB
    ILB
    WR... need a legit #2
    TE
    RB... need speed

Texans are in sore need of offense. A real QB makes everything better. Alfred and all RBs would look better if we had a deep ball threat because teams couldn't stack the box.

Adding OL and S is nice, but is more of a luxury right now. Don't forget Quessenberry is likely to be ready next season.

He makes too much money. If he accepts a paycut, by all means bring him back.
