That is a cop-out answer, captain obvious, Sorry. Nothing is life is black and white. If Hamas said tomorrow that we will put down our arms, will there be peace? If Israel said they'll put down their arms, will there be peace?
If they both sides did it, then there would be a chance for peace. If only one side did it, then it's doubtful there would be peace. If Israel kept up their invasion of Gaza tomorrow would there be peace? If Hamas kept shelling Israel tomorrow would there be peace? No because that's the reaction both sides have done time and time again and it never brings peace. Sticking with a cease fire pretty much worked for a year before. If both sides do what is proposed in the agreement it could work again.
Israelis are occupiers. Palestinians are occupied. Who said this was equal? Or 'war'? 'Israel is a terror state' rang throughout London yesterday. Israel IS a terror state. Do those words frighten or shock you?
So... You illegally occupy another country, discriminate its poverty stricken inhabitants, and import in billions of dollars worth of modern weaponry from your uncle....it's totally okay and fair because a couple of donkey farmers on the other side became violent during your occupation?
In every cease fire that "worked", who broke it? Give me real examples please? When I say broke it, I mean who had the first military strike where lives were at stake. Not who broke some sort of ideological or political stance. People can disagree politically without firing rockets.
No, because it's pointless to talk about something that cannot be undone. Unless some Native American mom gives birth to Superman who can fly and shoot lasers out of his eyes, nobody in the US is packing up and moving to Siberia just so the natives can have their land back. You don't need a comic book hero to right the situation in Israel.
LOL, do you? I get that you may not like the way the world works, but it's not going to change. The Palestinians and Israelis essentially want the same thing, they are both just two Semitic people who have been squabbling over the same stretch of land forever. Each have at different times had the power to kill the other and force them out. There is no "right" and "wrong" side in this, though you will probably strongly disagree because of the blinders of bias. If the Palestinians had the power, they'd run the Israelis out and claim the land, but they don't and they didn't back when the land was essentially up for grabs after the British pulled out and that's the only reason why they are where they are and the Israelis are where they are. Had the Arab factions been stronger at the time than the Israelis were then it would be reversed.
First of all, chill man those are some fighting words. Come kick me out then. I'm stayin here because I'm an American. Secondly, it's more American to speak honestly and critically about one's history than to simply put the blinders on and not acknowledge our bloody past. Thirdly, it's this kind of unconditional view of American exceptionalism that should ideally deteriorate as future generations emerge. I am growing to think that you are just a senile old man and it makes me feel sad for you.
We are currently talking about something that can't be undone. Unless some Palestinian mom gives birth to Superman who can fly and shoot lasers out of his eyes, nobody in Israel is packing up and moving to Siberia just so the guys who stole the land from the previous people who stole the land can have it back.
Israel is not a terror state. Arabs live in Israel side by side with Jews. They don't complain. Arabs account for about 20% of the population and participate in the government. They realize living in Israel doesn't mean that they can't co-exists with other cultures. The only people that have a problem are the ones that refuse to co-exist.
Ignore him, he's some self hating Asian dude who wants to be a real German. He's not in a position to kick anyone out of 'Murrica.
Half the population from the river to the sea is Palestinian. Israel cannot get away with what the American settlers did, not in the eyes of the world. Clearly, they've gotten away with ethnic cleansing for 80 years and counting. But the gig really is up, the world is against Israel.
Read up on Israel just a tiny bit, you'll find that nothing you've said is really true no matter how many times israeli spokespeople repeat their hasbara.
