Objectively, these Rockets are unwatchable garbage

Properly coached Ariza, Brewer, Smith, Lawson, and Thorton better than Asik, Parsons, Lin... it's just that simple.

 

To me it's not the winning and losing, it's more the lack of consistent effort. You can just tell there are days they're just going through the motions. Plus the style of play is just ugly. Lots of free throws and lots of bricked three pointers. Then there's Dwight picking up the same stupid fouls and techs he's picked up since he was 20 years old.. It's like he's never learned anything.

Morey is as fun of a gm as anyone could wish for....but everything listed in the quote above reflects the reality of his system (if you add bad coaching and no defense) year in and year out. Getting rid of Morey, JB and Howard would be the start of a rebuild back to the type of team that the city of Houston deserves.

 

to be fair they were starting to look a bit better until the last couple games which they really mailed in. i assume they were affected by the looming midseason vacation. hopefully the shame of that blazers beatdown will get them to refocus for 2 games before the break.

We really do need to blow it up. It's obvious we can't compete at the highest levels with consistency, and our defense is god-awful. It's painful to watch our low-light reels on /r/nba every month with our star player playing Matador defense while everyone else on the floor is watching the ball.

The hard truth is that it's going to be extremely hard to win the championship with the Warriors being as good as they are right now. Their core of Steph, Klay, and Dray are in their prime and young enough to contend for years to come.

We need to start acquiring future assets and flexibility to sign the next Karl Anthony-Towns or Porzingis, not overpay for mediocre free agents to build around Harden and Dwight. If by some act of God, we end up with Durant, then by all means mortgage the house, but if not then we should seriously blow it up.

I'm frustrated, I'm mad, and there are times that I'm watching a game (I watch them all) and wonder why I'm subjecting myself to such torture. I understand why the OP started this thread, although I would never have picked that title (I would have inserted "often" after the word "are" ha ha!).

What I don't understand is how a "fan" could start a thread with the title, "Sooo how much we losing by tonight???" What an unadulterated piece of crap as an idea for a thread. It assumes your team (I'll have to assume the Rockets are "his team" as I don't see any evidence of it) is going to lose. We have a chance of winning every game we play. It depends on a myriad of factors, but unlike that OP (who I have on ignore - now I remember why), it all adds up to the Rockets on any given day having a chance of winning against the Warriors or any other team in the league. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we pulled out a win tonight. Yes, I'll be watching.

When your owner talks about knowing the team was going to lose when he saw them play, you can't blame the fans for following suite.

This is the most frustrating year I have personally witnessed, and it is almost all a lack of leadership and effort.

I can't understand how players can simply quit like this....I personally don't like cheering or rooting for people who don't give a crap about winning.

Indeed. It's like watching the basketball equivalent of Groundhog Day.

 

some people are mentally weak and dont have the strength to maintain dignity in the face of inconsequential adversity such as their favorite nba team is worse than they expected.

 

Or some fans care too much and believe in holding players to a higher standard, and can see the lack of effort from the players on a team they have followed for 40+ years.

Well I'm not very troubled, but it's because I care less than I ever have. This is the first season I actually forgot to watch a game.

 

I still watch every single game - hoping, just HOPING they find that inner strength to care and to fight as a team.

I do think DMo will help a lot, but unless those guys start playing for each other, particularly on defense, they will not improve.

The scheme sucks. Effort isn't great but the scheme noticeably sucks. Hard to improve doing what they're doing.
