Latest poll... only 34% of Americans support the Trump/republican ACA replacement plan. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/03/15/fox-news-poll-34-voters-favor-gop-health-care-plan.html
He will cover more people, reduce premium and deductibles, oh and increase the quality of the insurances, LOL
The GOP has a plan to deal with public discontentment with this bill: blame Obama. They are just gonna repeat the false claim that the ACA is collapsing and then blame the fallout from giving billionaires tax cuts on that false collapse. The RNC is led by a very cynical group of individuals with a particular disdain for the rubes who support their party. http://acasignups.net/17/01/22/gop-openly-admits-they-plan-blame-consequences-their-actions-obama
Listen, if people would have went to the polls and voted for their real issues instead of being dumb, they wouldn't be having to protest. Trump said what he was going to do, this is what you wanted America. A healthcare plan that gives the wealthiest Americans big tax breaks and everybody else can die.
I've been as critical as anyone of trump, but that is misleading. The director was saying we won't have universal coverage because there will be people who simply choose not to get it. Trump never said he would force everyone to have insurance. He hasn't technically been proven a liar yet that there would be insurance for everyone.
Well, that's a bunch of BS. Not what you said, but the director. The promise of universal health insurance is possible if it's affordable enough for everyone to get it. Clearly that's not the case under current Trump plan. The other choice of word - universal care - is possible by simply providing universal healthcare. There is no need to force anyone to buy. This is one area that I'm pretty sure some of his die hard supporters believed him and is very disappointed. Trump has promised a few things that is basically universal coverage. He said everyone get insurance recently. He specifically said if you can't afford it, you will get it, implying they will provide enough help for you able to afford it. Everyone will be taken care of and will be better off financially. Trump also said in late 2015 that everyone will get healthcare, and that the rich will pay for it - there is a Bretbart article on it.
Oh, and they WILL pass this bill. There is a bunch of posturing about it, but we will have this shitty bill passed. There ain't no doubt. Hopefully the midterm elections the people will come to their senses and get a democratic majority for the rest of trump's term.
I clearly have not read the entirety of the bill, but, for example, what health care tax break would Bill Gates get out of this bill?
The figures I've seen have said that millionaires will receive a $50,000 tax cut on average. I honestly have not looked further into it at the moment. I'm going to wait and see what revisions will come to this thing first. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ax-break-for-the-rich/?utm_term=.4b58d7aab64f Tucker Carlson who is no left leaning journalist also recognizes that it gives tax breaks to the wealthy. Paul Ryan admitted as much during a Tucker Carlson interview on FOX news.
It eliminates a whole bunch of different taxes. The most direct for Bill Gates would be the 3.8% investment surtax on the wealthy. Since almost all of his income likely comes from investments, that's a 3.8% cut to his net tax rate, essentially. https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/net-investment-income-tax-faqs
A bill will likely pass, but this current one is not passing the Senate. House Reps will run in fear of Trump because they can easily be primaried out of a job. Not so much with Senators, many of whom aren't up for re-election anytime soon, and many of whom have a much stronger powerbase in their state.
So? It's weird to say he has no shame when this isn't the bill he wrote. The Republican "establishment" wrote this bill.
