We did, and big texx is certainly aware of that, he just started up another thread because he's in the mood. That's why everybody's clowning him.

    The clown show rolls on.

This is a great example of how people say Obama is playing chess while Republicans are playing checkers. Nothing would be more powerful to ISIS propaganda than having a US soldier they could torture and gut like a fish on tape to be shown around the world. Ultimately, though I think it sucks we had to give up terrorists to get our guy back, securing this guy from these Jihadists was a necessary move. If he's a deserter then he'll have his day in court and justice will be done. At least he's in our courts instead of being held by these crazies with no telling what they would do to him.

He's really going to be in trouble when the Taliban charges him with desertion.

Mmmm, uncorking a vintage T_J thread. 2008 was a good year for his schtick and muck. I swear, the quality of trolls we have around here will never compare to T_J's heyday. Soak in the delusion, gentlemen.

The only thing that would surprise me is if it was only one of the five.....which is really 8, but we don't talk about the 3 we traded just to get negotiations started just the 5 Taliban commanders that we traded for the one deserter that ought to be put up against a wall and shot.

This is part of why GITMO cannot be closed at this point...... Put yourself in the position of the prisoners. If you ARE guilty of the charges, then you already are a jihadist and will fight the USA. If you are not guilty, you are going to be extremely upset that you are being held in prison wrongly and will be very motivated to get even. Further, other Muslims will meet you and hear your story.

Agreed, it was an obvious train wreck when the president initially chose to negotiate with terrorists in order to return a deserting soldier, who should be lined up against a wall and shot, and we all assumed that the 5 (or really 8) Taliban commanders would return to terrorism eventually. So really, it's just more of what we expected.

Interesting to see that you do not believe in due process.

I'd love for someone to make a list of things that this particular poster has posted that completely contradicts other things he's posted. Like most libertarians, it's a convoluted mess of selfish ideas wrapped in a warped idea of "freedom".

Yup. None of the theoretical ideals he spouts ever match any of his real world views.

I don't think you understand the concept of due process.

Isn't that where you start chanting "Hands up, don't shoot" and then go around looting and vandalizing towns?
