Yes of course we saw how well that worked with Standard Oil, Ma Bell and etc..

Pretty much this says all you need to know about those against net neutrality. The consumer, innovation or anything else doesn't matter it is those with the most money that matters.

The banking system in its current state is not good for the market, but that's a side issue.

No, but a lot of poor people, residents in non-agrarian regions or patrons of unscrupulous restaurants (and probably most fast food chains) would die from preventable diseases caused by cheap, old food.

companies cant innovate because of govt regulation. all that red tape costs money. if america takes care of companies those companies will take care of customers. we should be doing everything to keep companies happy otherwse they move to india and china. liberals love saving the small customer but they dont know this hurts our economy

This is the type of fear mongering that the liberals want to raise. This is on par with the urban myths on charging per email.

The only "victims" are companies like Netflix that use an absorbent about of bandwidth. ISP's have tried some foolish measures in the past, such as data caps. This doesn't sit well with the consumers and they fight back. Lets not waste our time on non issues and focus on the real issues

I wouldn't say this is entirely true, but you are correct... Businesses will suffer the most. Ultimately these companies will find a way to push lost revenues onto their remaining customers, so everybody loses (except the ISP's).

Are you talking about FDIC? Which was established in the 1930's...

Faust is just a troll account by a liberal to make Conservatives look bad, at least I believe.

It speaks volumes about how bad Conservatives consistently present themselves in arguments that it's debatable whether Faust is trolling or not.

I don't get your schtick. It's like you're doing some kind of parody but without jokes.

If you are against net neutrality you either are,

    1. uninformed
    2. don't understand it clearly
    3. have a conflict of interest
    4. corrupt

If you like the way the internet works right now for the most part then you should be in favor of Net Neutrality.

If you would like the internet to turn into something more like Cable TV, with:
    1. paid subscriptions that include premium and non-premium packages/tiers,
    2. access or no access to certain websites based on your internet package,
    3. faster or slower rates to websites, again based on your internet package,

then you are against Net Neutrality.

Here is a simple example that a customer could face directly. You buy internet from your ISP. They offer Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. Tier 1 is your common services like email. Tier 2 includes mail plus visiting normal websites, but no Youtube, PSN, XboxLive, Netflix, etc... That would be Tier 3.

The other issue that is indirect to customers but still affects us is the fact that content providers like Twitter, Facebook, PSN, XboxLive, Netflix, are also customers of ISPs just like us. From their POV, if they don't buy a premium subscription from their ISP, they could be throttled to the point that it disrupts service and the customer experience suffers. All the while the ISPs own video streaming service gets the fast lane. That's some mafioso stuff right there, completely un-american!!!

As americans, as consumers, there is no good reason to be against net neutrality. Not a single one.
