Particulates in the air and trash/sewage in rivers is what you posted. This isn't related to greenhouse gases at all. We largely cleaned up our waterways with the Clean Water Act under Nixon.

China will have a much harder time than we did because they are delaying this so long in the name of economic growth but it has nothing to do with Climate Change. I find it disturbing you think it does.

The ignorance from the left on this topic is shocking.

I find it disturbing that you are pro pollution.

    coal. mang. dat coal.

I also find it disturbing what a 2 second google search shows:

When fossil fuels - coal, oil and natural gas - are burnt they release CO2 into the atmosphere.

Because of this the layer of greenhouse gas is getting thicker, which is in turn making the Earth warmer.

Thus the ongoing unlimited burning of fossil fuels is the cause of climate change.

    Where does CO2 come from?

In terms of fuels, the main problem is coal. The other key reason is waste – inefficient use of energy.

And in terms of industries, the main culprit is electricity production – the power industry.

    coal:

But the new study, by American and Finnish researchers, says the answer lies mainly in the quickening pace of coal consumption in Asia, particularly in China, and the air pollution that is causing.

yeah let's be more like china. Please stop posting. For the children. please.

Go do something about it rather than complain. None of us have the power to change things that go on in the country. All we do is complain about it to justify things, or feel better.

Notice the liberals in this thread bringing the full-on stupid. Trying to claim this will prevent 3' of sea level rises, showing pictures of kids bathing in Indian rivers, etc.

    Ignorance.

The 97% number has been debunked over and over and over. We're talking 10 pinocchios.

And limiting CO2 does nothing for air quality -- air quality is impacted by sulfur, particulate matter, mercury and other emissions that are already incredibly tightly regulated in the United States.

This Administration's argument is so incredibly dishonest regarding climate change. It should make people stop and think why they are trying so hard to decieve you. Remember this is the same Administration that lied repeatedly to get Obamacare passed.

None of what you posted has anything to do with the pictures you posted.

I am very much against pollution and have gone after people in lawn care threads about overuse of nitrogen fertilizers and wasting water. Climate change is not about sewage in rivers.

None of the pictures you posted have anything to do with coal usage in the USA. Like I said before, China uses 4 times the amount the US does, very close to cities, in densely populated areas.

You seem to think the pictures you posted are climate change.

I'm in the camp that believes higher prices will create higher employment rates. As coal plants shut down, the easiest (most efficient) energy source is faded out. That leaves natural gas to replace coal which means more jobs because of the higher level of technology involved to produce natural gas.

I do think it is bogus to impose such mandates on the belief that this will hault or stop climate change.

Unbelievably simplistic and false logic. Higher power prices serve as a tax on the economy. That dwarfs any impact from any additional jobs, which by the way is not a given...last I checked there's plenty of coal miners in the US...

I figured you would have to use something like this as a crutch since you're incapable of arguing the topic at hand.

    step aside, thanks.

"97 percent of scientific papers (that take a stance on the issue) agree, the study finds."

"The authors* of the study (Quantifying the consensus on anthropogenic global warming in the scientific literature), who painstakingly sifted through nearly 12,000 academic journal article to reach their conclusion, say they hope their results bridge the divide between publishing scientists who are convinced human activities are causing global warming and the segment of the public, who are not."

    Thanks for the links.

Still not sure why you're hung up on coal when renewable is cheap and stable. Progress isn't always bad.
