It's really all Obama knows. Take from Peter, give to Paul. Mandate this, outlaw that. Use force to engineer society in his image.

And without the consent of the elected representatives, just use executive agencies to issue edicts, and dare anyone to stop him.

in the video he at least says we need to "force representatives to do the right thing"

Now that he has all the power, he doesn't even bother with the pretense of that. Representatives, lol.

Come on now. Everybody knows that it likely isn't, TECHNICALLY. Similar to how the gasoline that you would buy at a Valero, Exxon, Chevron, etc likely wasn't refined at a facility owned by that company.

It's amazing the way his drones just cover their ears and scream "you just hate Obama!" while he wrecks the country.

    Dow 16,734.71 +17.54 (0.10%)

Basically though, the natural gas lobby just beat out the coal lobby.

You should get angry and go out to the street and yell for people to "Honk if they don't like Hussein Obama ."

Then I guess you will go masturbate to old pics of Reagen idk. What do you guys do to keep the anger and hate up for the troll act?

Utilities generally have programs to subsidize the costs of electricity for people in need. Aside from that, utilities set prices on a rate-base structure that sets their prices based on historical wholesale prices such that utility prices tend to trail the market. Competitive retailers reflect the wholesale market much more quickly, but Texas is the only state where the utility is not an option (and Texas generation is already gas-heavy and won't be significantly impacted by these regulations; apologies to Luminant). This on top of the slow-roll I expect to achieve full enforcement of these rules.
That's not to say the vulnerable are immune to price hikes, but the impact is severely blunted. It's a long play that gives residential consumers years to accomodate the (inevitable even without the EPA) increase in power prices.

This is a significant rule that will have far-reaching effects, but you're way overplaying a pretty cosmetic storyline of jobs and cost. No extravagant headline-grabbing crisis will develop as a result of this rule. Jobs lost will be recouped elsewhere. Price increases will be mitigated by usage declines from energy efficiency, and the causes will be muddied by a host of other factors that also impact price in both directions. For someone in the industry, fretting about the jobs and energy prices impacted seems cosmetic. I'm much more concerned about the impact on market structure, fuel diversity, grid reliability, and innovation. But, that's going to be a harder storyline to bash Obama with.

Of course I understand all that. I'm well versed in the power generation and distribution space.

The impact to the cost curve is not trivial. When you take out some of the the lowest cost sources of power, of course the price will rise as additional higher cost sources are needed to meet demand. And by the way -- natural gas prices aren't guaranteed to stay low forever. Remember, the best cure for low gas prices is....low gas prices. And all these petrochemical plants using gas as an input + potential LNG exports will obviously pressure gas prices higher. Don't be lulled to sleep by low natural gas prices of today. Yes there's a fracking boom, but most of it is chasing the liquids rich plays now... All this adds to higher prices.

Your point about reliability is indeed warranted. That's second level thinking that will of course fly right over most of the mullets on this board.

The adults are talking about climate change. Do those pictures reflect the harmful effects of climate change?

this would all make sense if in parallel Obama was doing something, anything, to facilitate building more nuclear power plants.
