You're being overly simplistic. There are other factors that went into the creation of ISIS including foreign funding from Middle Eastern governments, Assad successfully remaining in power, unlike other Arab Spring-deposed leaders, and creating a power vacuum in Syria, the potency of radical Islam in western countries and its contributing a near-endless stream of fighters, etc.

But it's easier to blame Obama for everything, I guess.

The buck stops here.... Bush has been retired for 8 years, I think it's time Obama got some blame for this mess.

As the Red Hot Chili Peppers once sang: "if you have to ask, you'll never know".

It's nice that you are willing to confirm you have nothing of substance to say.

I have plenty to say. I just gave up trying to reason with idiots a long time ago.

If you'd read my posts earlier in the thread, you'd see that I do blame Obama for a feckless policy in Syria. His justifications for involvement were initially flimsy and, from where I sit, he's subsequently tried to be hands-off in a way that leaves this problem in the lap of whoever comes after him.

You're seeking to make this a purely political blame-game issue and ignore all of the players currently involved in Syria. I blame both Bush and Obama for elements of the current no-win situation in Syria.

What neither you nor texxx have done so far is float any idea about how to address Syria and Iraq now that Russia is involved and money and arms are flowing from other Middle Eastern countries.

You've blamed Obama. What's your next move? I'm genuinely curious.

I also didn't mention President Bush in the post you quoted. You brought him up in order to bring up President Obama again.

I know that's why I put the qualifier "substance" in there. You have nothing of substance to say and you keep proving it...

Well if you would take the time to read the post I quoted you would understand why I was already talking about Bush and Obama...

Ok, you've done that. Everybody is to blame.

What do you think American strategy in Syria and Iraq should be going forward?

Actually that's how I feel. We've got liberals in here defending Obama's blatant lie.

Did you know that Iraq and Syria are different countries with different histories? The US has had no real influence in Syria since 1946. Placing even 50 US troops in Syria is pretty radical. (remember, it's not Iraq) I believe Mr. Obama put them there 1. to direct safer and more effective air strikes and 2. as a political statement to Russia and Iran that we will not give them carte blanch' to run over non-Assad factions.

Who cares what you feel. You're a bigotexxx - a partisan hack who probably gets paid to post on here and has the intelligence of a lobster. I'm sorry - I should not insult lobsters.

Go crawl under your rock until the next faux scandal appears - you're out of your league when it comes to...well I was going to say foreign policy but you actually haven't demonstrated a thoughtful idea on anything in the history of this board.

It's kind of funny thinking back to Obama's comments about Romney seeing Russia as a geopolitical foe during the 2012 race now that we find ourselves almost in another cold war with Russia.
