Why not go after Lebron? I'm sure Lebron he has his eyes on Houston as a possible destination.

Besides, Lebron makes so much money from endorsements, taking a paycut wouldn't make a dent in his cash flow.

I would do Parsons, Lin, and picks for Melo. They can take Asik and cash too if they want. The Knicks would be fun to watch again. The Rockets would be lol as ****, but exciting too.

Because he's still winning in Miami.

    ------

Melo and Harden could work, if they can accept that their point production would be reduced. At this point of Melo's career, I think he's willing. If Harden is clicking, Melo should let Harden work, vice-versa. I think Dwight is OK with around 15 PPG with double-digit rebounds, as long as he's winning. It's a long NBA regular season. I'm sure Harden and Howard wouldn't mind extra help from Melo.

Call me crazy, but I actually think Asik+Lin is more valuable to this team than Carmelo. Dont get me wrong I think Carmelo is a great talent, but there wont be enough touches to go around in my opinion. The only reason the Big 3 in Miami works is because Lebron is an amazing facilitator and Bosh has taken a huge backseat compared to his Raptor days.

I do believe that there's a long shot for the obvious reasons that we do acquire him but, how does he and Harden share the ball? I was a big proponent of acquiring him post Nugs. I even posted this somewhere in the forums. For now, as tempting as it is to acquire a talent of his caliber, I don't see the need for him.

I now believe that we're more in need of a 2nd/3rd banana along with some bench restructuring. Also, we need the prerequisite time-spent-together for cohesion from being a true contender. I don't doubt the talent of Carmelo and believe that his team suffers more from organizational dysfunction than his inability to lead.

I'm curious. How does anyone see the offense chemistry working between he and Harden, not to mention Dwert's required touches in the post? I just don't see either changing their game this established in their respective careers unless Harden's willing to revert to his OKC role.

Durant/Westbrook vs Melo/Harden would be awesome to watch. With that said, it really seems like a longshot.

I would love to Move Melo at the 4,I think he is more effective there IMO.If we were to keep Parsons then that would be legit.

I would trade Lin,Asik,Jones,2nd rounder,1st Rounder for him.

I think he's referring to this article from 2012:

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...il-jackson-discussed-vacant-coaching-position

But the source of the quote is not really clear and even if it is we do not know if Phil still feels this way about Lin.

Lebron knows wade is on the decline. He's old and injury prone. Lebron just wants to win as many championships as possible. The best and easiest road to that is to go to houston.

No way Melo would be settling for mid range jumpers and playing selfish with Dwight and Harden.

Its a long shot but would be worth it.

Like someone mentioned, we would attract amazing vets for minimum contracts.

So, if Melo does come to the Rockets (far-fetched) , that means there is literally no chance Morey would be able to re-sign Parsons in 2015, correct? I wonder how Parsons would feel knowing it would be his last season with Morey looking to shop him for some cheap pieces / draft picks.

Hey, thanks for this. I was just googling this, and found something similar. It doesn't say much about phil if the article was written in 2012, DURING linsanity.
