I'll have to try and find where it was said, but the Celts were discussing Cousins with the Kings to the tune of saying 'we are offering 2 firsts, if you don't take it we move on to Howard or [?I can't recall the next person, maybe it was Love?]'

So part of Boston's offer is 2 first rounders. I would guess the rest of it would be expirings?
If this is in any way serious, one might expect Morey to be fishing the idea of acquiring someone else with the firsts.

They are killing us anyways. This team's defense is so bad even with Dwight on the floor that it goes beyond him, and he's not solving any issues. Also IF Dwight gets dealt its likely that Morey's data is showing him that there is little to no chance of us competing for a title this year and he's essentially throwing in the towel on the season.

Given that technically the Rockets are still in the playoffs, and their play lately has somewhat improved (despite losing 3 of 4), I still think Morey wants to at least give this team a shot at a late season run, and peaking going into the playoffs with a "let's see what happens" approach.

However we are very close to where Morey would need to be where the season is pretty much lost, and trading Dwight is a real possibility which is why I think Morey is at least doing his due diligence to at least talk to other teams and see what the deals would be.

Priority #1 is putting this team in a playoff run, and Priority#2 would be getting Dwight back long term on a reasonable deal. Priority #3 would be to be proactive in case #1 & #2 do not happen.

If it happens, sounds like a rebuild.

I hear ya and I know he's hurt a lot but can you name another player that can throw up 36pts and grab 26 boards in a single game against the LA Clippers.

David Lee, Jae Crowder, Jonas Jerebko & the better of Boston/Brooklyn's 1st next year for Dwight, Ariza and Jones makes some sense. A small reset that allows the Rockets to make another run next year with an asset to play with (the BKN pick). The Rockets would also have the cap space to add another center in free agency.

    Beverley
    Harden
    Crowder
    Motiejunas
    Horford?

definitely not common but Drummond put up 25 and 29 without OT earlier this year

they should do it if they are willing to part with Net pick + Bradley/Zeller. Rockets aren't giving Dwight the max in the off-season and Boston is desperate to move up in playoff spots. Their fans dont want to wait another 3 years for a rebuild, they want to start winning now. We ain't winning the chip this year so I don't see why not.

If I'm the Rockets I'd be Content with

    Amir Johnson
    Avery Bradley For Dwight Howard
    Kelly Olynyk

And Boston only does this is they have another trade already lined up. And I would be thinking they would go for Markieff Morris and Brandon Knight/Eric Bledsoe combo since the suns are about to go full tank mode. It shouldn't take more than David Lee plus picks for that trade to go down.

    Marcus Smart/I.T
    Brandon Knight/Evan Turner
    Crowder
    Morris/Sullinger
    Howard/Zeller

To elaborate, the Rockets would still be in position to go for another star player (Cousins, Love, Westbrook, Griffin, etc) with Motiejunas/Capela/BKN 1st depending on how bad the Nets are next year.

Just Dwight's agent working on Dwight's image. Wants to show that Dwight is still as highly sought around the league.

I don't know, maybe Boston feels like they could win the East this year and then decide in the summer if they want to keep Howard. I'd be shocked if they traded away hard-earned assets for something like that though, considering they can sign him in the summer and they won't beat Cleveland in the playoffs.

That was the Kings insider, about a week or two ago.
He also said back then, that he's convinced Dwight will get traded and that Morrey approached Sac as well and asked what they would give up for Dwight.

Hmmm, so the Boston media is making it seem like we are calling them up. Right....
