Never too late when $$$ is involved. This whole situation is an extension of the trade wars. The ban is very much political in nature. If we can get a trade deal done, this whole thing might blow over. Either way, my opinion is to just apologize and suffer some abuse for 2 weeks from the media then get back to business as usual. Not apologizing to China however would set NBA back for years.
Time to cut bait on China. I feel sorry for their brainwashed people and hope they will someday liberate themselves from such a tyrannical government. Until then, it’s best we separate as our ideologies don’t mix.
Not all streams are that great . Plus it’s regulated. I had league pass last year , I really enjoyed it. But I recognize that lots of people watch sports illegally
Yes but it's also easier to say when you have a conscience. "We have been guided in these discussions by the long-standing core values of our league. These include not only diversity, inclusion, fairness and respect for others but also the willingness to listen and consider opposing points of view." What the NBA said when moving the All Star game away from Charlotte because of a bathroom law. You either have core values or you are a money w**** and go to bed with modern nazis. Not both ways.
Please, if your employer decides your income will be cut in half unless you apologize for spewing all the hate against China, you'd apologize faster than a Harden stepback.
Oh I will. And there is nothing you can do about it because I live in a free country that protects my right to speak my mind .
There’s no innovation just control In the movies , all the good ones over there are from Hong Kong Not a coincidence
Houston is doing great! People are outside right now enjoying the cooler weather. They're eating in great restaurants and spending quality time with friends and family. They were able to watch the Rockets in Houston because they don't censor things they love just because of a disagreement in Houston. It's really a wonderful place to live. It's very diverse and people have freedom to speak their minds about their government good or bad. They worship or don't worship as they please. There's access to all kinds of entertainment. It's so abound that people can have a hard time making up their minds about what kind of fun they're going to have. The people of Houston want that for the Chinese people too. The Chinese people deserve it for all the years of hardship. The Chinese government prevents great improvements from happening to China. They should deregulate the people because it's the people that matter.
Exactly. Now the escalation is out of control. The NBA cannot back down now because it will look really bad here in the US. And China cannot back down because they will lose face to the world.
The DIFFERENCE is if a coach or player or ANYONE in the Chinese basketball league criticized the US Government or US citizens or whatever literally nothing would happen. They can criticize us all they like and that's ok, but yet if we question Chinese government actions even as a private citizen they go into full authoritarian mode. If China is willing to shun the entire NBA over a private citizen comment can you imagine what they do to their own citizens when they express any view they don't like?
Didn't both parties just passed some resolution in Capital Hill to support current Hong-Kong protest a few weeks back? Shouldn't China just ban everything from US already?
