Now that Cleveland has won is their a worst sports city than H-Town?

    All you need to know about Les' view of merchandising is contained in his decision regarding the toothy rocket and changing the colors from red to blue. He clearly didn't like the uniforms/logo of the years prior to that.

    If the AFL is going to be counted (I'm assuming it isn't), the Oilers won the first 2 championships. I saw several of the games. You're right, regardless. There are a number of cities worse off than Houston.

    Houston sports history isn't pretty


    NFL - No titles 2 AFL Titles pre merger 3 conference championship appearances post merger but last one was in 1979.

    MLB- No Titles 1 World Series Appearance 4 LCS appearances last one in 2005.

    NBA - 2 Titles 4 Finals Appearances 2 years making it past the first round since 1997

    All the other sports are minor league for everyone trying to make the Dynamo, Comets, Houston Angels and other assorted failed league titles.

    Local Mn sports media are playing up how Minneapolis St. Paul has the longest drought. This is true Among cities with at least three Major League teams.

    Misery index - it's cities without great management. If you're winning, it's upstairs.

    Atlanta - Used to be Hotlanta. Hawks 0-12 vs. LeBron; Braves disaster; Falcons one playoff win in 11 years; NHL left town; Georgia football losing record

    New York - Poorly run Knicks have a playoff series win in 16 years; Nets are the worst-run team in American sports; Jets are now an utter disaster; Giants no playoffs in four years; Mets are talented but doing Met things. New York may have the worst ownership-management combo in American sports

    Houston - Rockets Harden & Dwight dysfunction; Astros couldn't capitalize on momentum & young talent; Texans have two playoff wins in 14 years; Houston will lose their coach Tom Herman; Texas football is a mess; Houston Comets were great & left.

    I'd add World Series sweep and Yao/T-Mac injuries to the Houston list. Not sure why Texas football would be included but as a Longhorn and Houstonian, it's been a rough couple of years sports-wise.

    Cowherd puts NY on the list? Really? Those 26 World Series titles for the Yankees...an NL pennant last year...recent Giant Super Bowl wins?? Man, I'd love to have such suffering in Houston.

    It depends on how far back you want to go.

    Philly has been pretty miserable lately. At least all our teams made the playoffs last year.
