so now we're really behind the 8-ball to get under the luxury tax. Now if we release Terrence and he gets picked up by somebody we're still $800k-$1million over the luxury tax line. We're going to have to either buy out Lawson......tonight, so he has a shot at joining a contender. Or we're going to have to pull off releasing Terrence and releasing Smoove or Terry most likely by tomorrow (so they can be picked up by a contender) or possibly releasing KJ and getting the Sixers to pick him up. Should be an interesting next 24 hours.
Or maybe we released him because we are log jammed at the guard with guys who don't play D and we also wanted to do a nice guy a solid? I mean we did trade the guy.

At least Thornton is ****ing better than Ty Lawson!!! Lawson contributes nothing both on offense and defense.
hollic, this seems like a luxury tax thread, but I can't help but think that Thornton is out there lingering because he's a bit of a locker room cancer. Heard anything like that?
I think they cut him because of what he said after the trade. They were aware it would be a bonus if he got picked up, but they would have cut him anyway.
Thornton was our best player coming off the bench and we kept pulling him after every bad game. As a coach, you have to accept a player like MT having a poor game because he stays aggressive and eventually will get it going. The problem is JB has no clue what he's doing. Now we have no shot creation off the bench and Harrell's basically getting the same treatment (No way Jones should be playing over Harrell)
